The 6 stages

Bag Quality Control Process: 6 Inspection Stages in One Factory

Each stage below is a page with its own checklist, sample size and tolerance. The stages run in sequence on every order from 300 pcs; a defect caught at stage 1 costs one roll, at stage 4 it costs a rework hour, and at the buyer’s warehouse it costs the reorder. Full timeline on the production process page.

Incoming Material Inspection

Stage 1. Every fabric roll checked for GSM (±5%), colour against the approved lab dip, shade lot, denier and coating; zippers cycled 1,000+ times, buckles load-tested, webbing and lining sampled per roll before a single panel is cut.
Before cutting · 100% of rolls

Sample Approval & Golden Sample

Stage 2. The signed-off pre-production bag that fixes dimensions (±1 cm), logo position (±3 mm), colour, hardware and stitch density (8–10 spi) for every later check. Sealed, tagged and stored for the life of the program.
5–7 day sample · 1 free revision

Inline Production Inspection

Stage 3. Cutting checks, first-off approval on every line, then an hourly patrol of stitch density, seams, bar-tacks and logo panels against the golden sample. Defects are reworked before the bag reaches the next station.
Hourly patrol · 10+ lines

Final Inspection & AQL

Agree the sampling standard, inspection level, defect classes and acceptance criteria before production. AQL sampling is separate from our 100% pre-shipment inspection; the plan must match the order and the buyer’s requirements.
Agreed inspection criteria

Packing Inspection

Stage 5. Polybag, hangtag, labels, carton count and carton weight against the packing list (±0.5 kg), carton drop test, FNSKU scan, seal and strap check, then loading photos before the container door closes.
Follow the current destination-specific packing brief

Third-Party Inspection Support

Stage 6. SGS, BV, TUV or QIMA inspections and factory audits welcome on any order, commissioned and paid by the buyer. Inspector access Mon–Sat, samples pulled, documents and a room provided; typical booking lead time 3–5 days.

Timeline

Bag Factory QC Timeline: From Deposit to Container Loading

We confirm the production schedule after reviewing the specification, material availability and target quantity. Allow separate time for sample approval and freight.
Day 0

Golden sample sealed

The approved 5–7 day sample is tagged with the project code, photographed on six sides and locked in the sample room. Its measurements become the tolerances for stages 3–5. See golden sample.
Day 3–10

Materials arrive and pass incoming inspection

Fabric from one of 200+ verified suppliers is unrolled 3 m per roll, weighed for GSM (±5%) and matched to the lab dip; zippers, buckles and webbing are pull-tested. Rejected rolls go back before cutting. See incoming inspection.
Day 8–12

Cutting check and first-off approval

First 5 panels per marker measured to ±0.5 cm; the first complete bag from each of the assigned lines is compared with the golden sample field by field before the line is released.
Day 10–28

Inline patrol every hour

5–10 bags per line per hour checked for 8–10 spi, bar-tacks and logo position (±3 mm). Defective units are tagged and reworked on the spot; a repeat defect stops the station. See inline inspection.
Day 26–32

100% final check and AQL sample

Agree the sampling standard, inspection level, defect classes and acceptance criteria before production. AQL sampling is separate from our 100% pre-shipment inspection; the plan must match the order and the buyer’s requirements. final inspection.

Bag Factory QC Problems and How the Factory Prevents Them

Six failures buyers report after switching from a factory with a single end-of-line check, and the stage that removes each one in a six-stage plan.
Bulk bags are 2 cm smaller than the sample
Cause: bulk fabric shrank or the cutter drifted with no reference. Control: the golden sample is measured at 12 points, panels are checked to ±0.5 cm at cutting, and finished bags to ±1 cm at final.
One carton in ten has a different shade
Cause: two dye lots cut into one order. Control: every roll is shade-sorted against the lab dip at incoming inspection; rolls are numbered and one lot is cut per bag.
Zipper pullers snap off within a month
Cause: zipper lot never tested; slider wrong for tape. Control: 10 pcs per zipper batch cycled 1,000+ times and puller pull-tested before the batch is released to the line.
Defects found only after 3,000 bags are sewn
Cause: end-of-line inspection only. Control: first-off approval per line plus an hourly patrol of 5–10 bags at inline inspection; a repeat defect stops the station within the hour.
Third-party inspector rejects the lot on a Friday
Agree the sampling standard, inspection level, defect classes and acceptance criteria before production. AQL sampling is separate from our 100% pre-shipment inspection; the plan must match the order and the buyer’s requirements. SGS, BV, TUV or QIMA.

It is the reference for every later check: first-off bags are compared to it field by field, inline patrol measures logo and stitch density against it, and final inspection measures 12 points against its recorded figures. It is stored for the life of the program; see golden sample approval.
The stages stay the same; the sample sizes follow the new lot size. Custom samples take 5–7 working days after the specification is confirmed. Bulk production and repeat-order schedules are confirmed in your quotation, based on the construction, materials, quantity and production availability.
