Custom Wet Pouch Specifications

A wet pouch is the one accessory that is a process rather than a sewing job. Film thickness, weld seam width and zip type decide whether it holds a damp swimsuit for 8 hours without wetting the bag around it.

Custom Wet Pouch Variants We Build

Four builds on the same welding station. The variant chooses the film, the closure and whether the pouch is a set piece or a shelf SKU, which sets the tier within the low-to-mid range.

Set wet pouch

0.15–0.2 mm TPU, #5 water-resistant zip, 25 × 18 cm, tonal print. The piece inside a private label gym bag set; priced to bundle.

Retail swim wet pouch

0.25–0.3 mm coloured or frosted TPU, 4–6 cm gusset, 4 L, wrist loop. Sold on its own in swim and beach retail; see wet bags.
Mid · retail SKU

Roll-top wet pouch

0.3 mm TPU with a roll-top and 25 mm buckle instead of a zip; the most watertight build for swim programmes at 3–4 L.

Where Wet Pouches Fail: and What We Do About It

A wet pouch fails at the seam, at the zip and in the film itself. All three are welding and material decisions made before the golden sample, and every prototype is fill-tested for 30 minutes.

The zip lets water out on the way home

A standard coil zip on a wet pouch seeps within 2 hours of a damp swimsuit sitting against it in a bag. We specify a #5 zip with PU-taped tape and a rubber-lined slider, or switch to a roll-top with a 25 mm buckle on swim builds where the pouch is carried for 4–8 hours.

The film goes stiff and cracks

PEVA under 0.10 mm and low-grade TPU stiffen after 6–12 months and crack at the fold. We source sample-approved TPU from verified suppliers, check thickness at incoming inspection with a gauge, and hold PEVA to entry tiers where the pouch is a giveaway rather than a retail SKU.
