How to Order Custom Bags From China: Which Guide to Read at Each of 7 Stages

A first custom bag order runs through seven stages between the idea and the shipped carton. The guide for each stage is linked; a buyer with a finished tech pack can start at stage 4.

Stage 1

Define the product

Fix bag type, capacity in litres, dimensions in cm and fabric before asking for a price. Read the bag material guide (12 fabrics, GSM and cost tier) and the tech pack guide. A complete spec keeps an OEM sample at 7–10 days instead of 2–3 rounds.

Stage 2

Set quantity and budget

Stage 3

Choose the route and the supplier

Asking for a price with no quantity or fabric

Cause: RFQ sent before the spec is fixed. Control: the 12-point RFQ checklist; an RFQ with quantity, fabric and dimensions in cm is quoted in 24 hours instead of after 2–3 rounds of questions.

Planning 3 colourways at 100 pcs each

Cause: reading MOQ as 300 per style, not per colourway. Control: the MOQ guide shows the math: 3 colourways = 900 pcs, or 1 colourway plus a printed panel variation at 300.

Approving a sample on photos only

Choosing 1680D for a 1 L running belt
