Studs cut through the mesh

Moulded and metal studs on a 100 GSM mesh base punch through within 10–20 uses. We use 150–200 GSM mesh on boot bags and add a 600D stud guard strip across the base where the studs sit, or move to a fabric base with 4 drain grommets on metal-stud programmes.

The cord channel tears on a 210D body

A drawstring channel on light 210D polyester takes all the load and tears at the exit within a season. We bind the channel with 20–25 mm woven tape, bar-tack both cord exits through a 300D patch, and on club programmes step the body up to 300D.

Mud pools and the bag never dries

A solid fabric base holds wet mud against the boots and the inside of the duffel. We specify a mesh base or 4 drain grommets at 8–10 mm, and keep the vent area at 100 cm² or more so the bag dries hung on its loop overnight.
