Ball Bag Specifications

A ball bag is sized by count and diameter, not litres. A size 5 football, a size 7 basketball and a size 5 volleyball are 21–24 cm across, and ten of them weigh 4–6 kg before the bag is added.

Count and closure define the variant. A coach sack and a retail single-ball bag share almost nothing except the mesh weight.

Mesh drawstring ball sack

Full 150–200 GSM mesh tube, 600D base, 6–8 mm cord with lock, shoulder strap. The 10–15 ball coach and school SKU at the lowest cost.

Where Ball Bags Fail: and What We Do About It

Ten balls in a mesh tube is 4–6 kg pushing outward on every seam. These three are where a ball bag lets go.

The cord exits tear out

On a drawstring sack the cord exit takes the full 4–6 kg every time the bag is lifted. A bare hole in mesh widens within weeks. We bind the channel with 25 mm woven tape on both faces, set 10–12 mm metal eyelets through a 600D patch at each exit, and anchor the strap loops to the base panel rather than the mesh.

The mesh abrades on the ground

A ball bag is dropped on tarmac and dragged across a court every session. Mesh under 150 GSM wears through at the base seam in a season. We specify 150–200 GSM mesh for the tube, a 600–1680D base panel turned up 5–8 cm, and a 25 mm binding on every mesh seam.

The zip bursts on an overfilled duffel

A 10-ball zip duffel is routinely loaded with 12. We fit a #10 zip with 2 sliders on zip ball bags, bar-tack both ends, and pattern the tube 5–8% over the nominal count so the zip closes without loading the teeth.

Custom Ball Bags: Frequently Asked Questions

From 300 pieces. A 10-ball mesh sack with a one-colour club print is the low end. See the MOQ guide.
By count and diameter. A size 5 football is around 22 cm, a size 7 basketball around 24 cm, a volleyball around 21 cm; we pattern the tube 5–8% over the nominal count so it closes when full. Tell us the sport and the count and we do the rest.
Mesh at 150–200 GSM vents wet balls and costs least; 600D with mesh panels takes a bigger print and survives more ground abrasion. Coach sacks are usually mesh, club-shop retail is usually fabric. The material guide compares them.
Yes, in 1–3 screen-print colours on the solid side or end panel, or as an embroidered crest on 600D. Mesh is not printed directly. See the logo method guide.
Drawstring for coach sacks that are carried and emptied; a #10 zip for duffel-style bags that load flat in a van and get overfilled. Both get bar-tacked exits or ends.
