Common fabric options

Materials for sports, fitness and light outdoor bags

The right choice depends on target price, structure, water resistance, appearance and expected order quantity.

600D / 900D polyester

Cost-efficient, durable and widely used for gym duffels, backpacks and everyday active bags.

Ripstop nylon

Lightweight with outdoor appeal. Good for slings, packable totes and travel-oriented programs.

TPU or coated fabric

Used when wipe-clean, water-resistant or structured performance is important.

Neoprene

Soft, sporty and protective. Useful for bottle bags, pouches, totes and lifestyle fitness collections.

Canvas or cotton blend

Natural look for wellness and lifestyle totes, often paired with embroidery or woven labels.

PU and microfiber

Premium look for yoga, pilates, boutique fitness and retail gift programs.

Recycled RPET

Available by project for brands with sustainability requirements, usually with MOQ and certificate checks.

EVA / PE support board

Adds shape, bottom support or protection in structured totes, duffels and backpacks.

Trims and branding

Small parts that change quality perception

Zippers, buckles, webbing, labels and logo methods often decide whether a bag feels retail-ready.

Zippers

SBS, YKK or project-matched zipper options can be compared by budget and buyer requirement.

Webbing and straps

Seatbelt webbing, cotton webbing, jacquard webbing and padded straps can adjust comfort and appearance.

Hardware

Plastic, alloy and coated hardware options should match price point, strength and color plan.

Logo applications

Print, embroidery, woven label, rubber patch, silicone badge, metal plate and custom zipper pulls.

Selection logic

How we help buyers narrow choices

A good material recommendation balances brand positioning with production reality.

Performance need

We ask whether the bag needs water resistance, structure, abrasion resistance, softness or lightweight carry.

Target price

Material and trim options are compared against the unit price range and expected order quantity.

MOQ pressure

Stock materials can lower risk; custom colors, custom fabric and special hardware may raise MOQ.

Sample speed

Available materials can speed up prototypes, while custom sourcing may extend the sample schedule.

Material choice should not be a black box
